Was out in Westfield shopping centre and saw this Brazilian restaurant which had clear Halal signs and was intrigued so we decide to give it a try. After speaking with the manager we were told the only chicken is halal and is cooked separately, so no beef or burgers etc.
Anyway, on to the food…
We were in a rush so we didn’t go with any starters and ordered the “Chicken Burger” – £9.95 and the “Spicy Malagueta Chicken” – £13.95.
First off the chicken burger is made with chicken thigh but it was not stated, quite a small burger, a bit on the dry side, coated with their malagueta sauce, as we were expecting a chicken breast burger it was a little disappointing, the chicken it self was slightly over done and a little too fatty even for a thigh burger.
I ordered the “Spicy Malagueta Chicken” – £13.95 which was a skewer of grilled chicken coated with the malagueta sauce, i Paid and extra £1 to get the “Cassava Fries” which are made of Yuca.
The portion of chicken was very small, specially for nearly fifteen pounds, the spice coating was nice with a little kick (not too spicy) but the chicken itself was overcooked and chewy and I didn’t feel the quality was that good. It was accompanied with a tiny coconut slaw, salad and corn, all of them tasted stale and not made very well, the corn was hard and even the tortilla wrap was damp and cold.
The service was ok, the restaurant was a bit cold. They do serve alcohol here and only the chicken is halal. Over all I wouldn’t come back.
