This Izgara branch is the latest one opened in Hatch End, a very well decorated establishment based on this local high road which hosts a number of popular restaurants. I visited their branch in Edgware a handful of times several years ago.
Food Food Food….
The service here is very nice, friendly and professional while we decided what to order we were given fresh Turkish bread with a couple of sauces. On this occasion we ordered the beetroot salad and felafel to start with and the Adana kebab for our main course. The felafel’s were freshly made, crispy outer with a refreshing light inside. The beetroot salad is lovely, a mix of cooked cubed beetroot, sun-dried tomatoes, feta cheese and spring onion with a nice dressing.
In many Turkish restaurants they serve kofte kebab which minced lamb on a skewer, Adana kebab is very similar but it is the proper traditional version, in actual fact in Turkey its only called “Adana”
We both ordered the Adana which is served with a side salad. The Adana kebab here is great, the minced lamb has a perfect balance of herbs and spices and cooked on their charcoal grill which results in a delicious succulent dish.
I have also tried the Iskender, which is chargrilled lamb pieces on top of bread pieces, garlic yoghurt sauce, butter sauce and tomatoes. Again a lovely dish, the lamb was very tender and tasty. The dishes come with rice and/or bread.
All the foods and meats are halal which has been confirmed by the owner, this establishment also serves alcohol.
