The Burger Box

American Burgers

REVIEW DATE: 30 January 2017

We were driving passed this new burger joint on Acton hight street so we thought we would give it a try. As we walked up to the place we were greeted outside the restaurant by some friendly staff informing us of their newly opened business and a 10% introductory discount. Very nice atmosphere, well decorated with what looked like some custom art.

Time for some bunzzz…

The menu is nice and simple, with a few burgers, sides, shakes etc and a couple of veggie options. The beef is organic grass fed which is nice to see a halal restaurant stepping up like this and we were told all ingredients fresh and prepared daily including daily baked buns.

We ordered the “Boxer Burger” – £10.99 which is a double 4oz burger with lettuce, sauces etc and topped with maple glazed beef bacon, A “Cheeseburger” – £7.99, A “Louisiana Chicken Burger” – £7.99, All the burgers came with fries and we also ordered some “Louisiana Hot Wings” – £4.49 and “Battered Onion Rings” – £2.99

We have ventured on to a great many new restaurants here and there on our journeys and wasn’t really expecting much and to my surprise the burgers were excellent, no lies here about the quality of their beef, Very tasty succulent patties, no herbs, onion etc, just pure delicious beef (maybe a touch of salt).

Cheeseburger - £7.99

All the burgers were in a kind of semi brioche bun and each topped differently with various sauces and salads etc, what I really liked was that there was no overload of sauce, the (beef / salad / bun / sauce) ratio was done very well so the flavour of the beef was coming through.

The beef bacon on the “Boxer” burger was proper quality cured smoky strips of beef unlike many other places.

The Louisiana chicken burger is very similar to a buffalo chicken burger but has less of crunchy coating, the chicken used is actually thigh meat, deep fried and coated with their Louisiana hot sauce which has a nice kick to it. I personally prefer breast in a burger but I would have this burger again for sure, quite a unique chicken burger and I think will be a popular option.

As I mentioned we also had some wings and onion rings, the rings were very good, proper onion and batter but not like “gourmet” style ones which can be a bit too big, oily and hard to eat.

The wings come in two options Louisiana and BBQ, we opted for the Louisiana which was the same as the chicken burger with a sprinkle of sesame seeds, nice saucy with a nice kick, the chicken wings are whole wing and split, good white meat and definitely not from frozen.

Louisiana Hot Wings - £4.49
Battered Onion Rings - £2.99

Overall this was one of the nicest burgers I have had in a while and the service was great. The food is all halal which was assured to us by the manager who also had the certificates on hand. No alcohol is served.

The atmosphere is nice and would be suitable for families and children, they have kids size burgers and meals, child chairs etc too.

Passionate about food, life....Hahaha only joking, Too cliche. I do very much enjoy good food though & I have always searched meticulously for better halal restaurants, take aways, snacks etc. So I decided to start putting it on the Interweb.
